Clean it up

In my opinion the businesses who use the dumpsters should take care of the dumpsters. The businesses should rotate who picks up this trash each day. The businesses should also be responsible if they put more than their share into the dumpsters. I was looking at the DDA budget and the waste removal fee is crazy. The amount of recyclable material in the photo is also horrible. Its time for the DDA to talk seriously about waste removal as a whole not just cleaning up their trash.

The dumpster in the N Adams lot is still disgusting. Now that it is warming up, they really stink.

The cardboard recycling dumpster is totally empty yet the DejaVU has piled up hundreds of boxes and left them on the ground in the dumpster area. See Pictures.

More trash from the Deja Vu

I thought I would be able to close this ticket yesterday. The dumpster area had been cleaned up and the cardboard recycling was nearly full. It looked great.

Not even 8 hours later, there was already furniture dumped on the ground. There was a huge pile of card boxes from some restaurant. (it was all food boxes). The boxes were carefully broken down but then just thrown on the ground. Someone else threw garbage into the recyling bin. They had to work hard to throw it on top of the recycling, despite the other two trash dumpsters nearly empty.

Brian Robb and I spent a lot of time last night pulling trash out of recycling and throwing the boxes that were on the ground into recycling. But still there were broken bottles, human waste and split garbage bags already dumped on the ground.

What is needed is a camera to monitor what is going on and there are already combo locks on the dumpster doors, they need to be used.

Hard to believe this is still a problem 3 YEARS LATER.
