After I posted the broken glass problem on the Ronan-Edgehill Neighborhood Assn. listserv, I received an email from someone saying: "This has been going on for a few weeks now. I actually stopped the recycling trucks this morning and spoke to the crew about it and they are aware that the seal is broken on their truck and supposedly have mentioned it to their supervisor. ...The glass is all over the city. I ran down Everitt Street last week and there was glass in front of each residence."

If that's the cause of the problem, how soon will it be remedied? It makes no sense to have a recycling truck in service, leaving glass on the streets.

Please address this issue as soon as possible. The glass has been falling out of the truck for at least a year--our neighbors on Beechwood Lane reported this to the Department of Public Works last summer--but it has gotten progressively worse. You can now see large piles of glass dumped in the street along the entire route. We'd appreciate an urgent correction to this problem!

I have noticed the broken glass for about a year on Beechwood Lane and recently on East Rock Rd. I own Houses on both Streets.
