Notified About

  • Pacific Avenue At 25th Avenue Venice, CA - Venice
A Crosswalk needs to be installed and pedestrian crossing signs need to be posted at Pacific Ave. at 25th Ave.. There are existing disabled access ramps on both sides and vehicular traffic does not slow down nor stop as pedestrians or the disabled enter the street. This is a high pedestrian traffic crossing to and from the canals to the beach.
  • 2317 Oakwood Ave Los Angeles, CA 90291, USA - Venice
Cars speed down my residential street at over 40mph everyday because it is a convenient shortcut to avoid the intersection at Venice and Lincoln Blvd.s. On the other side of Venice Blvd. Oakwood Avenue has speed bumps and stop signs, which discourages through traffic from speeding through a neighborhood filled with families with small children. I've asked the city to install a speed bump on our side of Oakwood Avenue, but it refused because my block isn't long enough to warrant one under their criteria. But a car counter and radar gun would show that there is way too much traffic for a small residential street and cars are going way too fast endangering everyone who lives here. Please put in a stop sign or at least speed bumps!
  • Xxxxx USA - Venice
Tree roots at the corner of the alley at xxxxxxxxxxx are raising the roadbed of the alley, and making the road too high to drive on. Most normal cars will drag on the root-damaged alley as they try to turn west onto xxxxxx out of this alley.
This same tree is also overhanging the sidewalk, and completely covering the utility pole.
  • 337 Rennie Venice, CA - Venice

This isn't a rant about the inflated prices cable monopolies have. That would take pages.

This is about how Time Warner Cable gets relatively low-cost (rebilled to users) use of utility poles and airspace as conduits to generate millions of dollars of revenue, but leaves behind quite a mess.

Perhaps it's only in Venice, but the shoddy tangle of cables dangling from every other utility pole in our area might explain the intermittent cable service.

A heavy wind or slight drizzle frequently knocks out service. Again: that's another issue…

The poles near our home showcase a snarl of wires, along the lines of abandoned cables leading to a neighbor's house, perhaps leftovers from previous installations that were never removed.

Who is responsible for ensuring that Time Warner Cable's use privileges should mean that they don't leave behind plain sight public eyesores?

I called yesterday (03-29-13) and asked for a technician to come out and clean up the mess on our property, and hope that they don't leave a mess on somebody else's property in the process.

  • 6th & Rose Avenue Venice , California - Venice
About an hour ago I was in the store that I work at and heard a big crash. It was a biker who was hit crossing 6th and Rose. This intersection is one I cross almost everyday because I work and live on this street. I myself absolutely hate crossing the street because I feel like people couldn't give a time of day whether someone needs to cross. Their too busy and that's when people get hit. This is a busy street just becoming busier. I think a flashing pedestrian sign or at least a sign needs to be put up. Who would need to be addressed to put this request in?
  • Dead trees Archived
1900 Canal St. Venice, California - Venice
There are several dead trees on Canal street here. Two are on the north side. They were some sort of pine trees.
  • 1400-1414 Crescent Ct Venice, CA 90291, USA - Venice
Every night people looking for parking drive down our alley looking for parking. The end up having to back up out of our alley because there isn't enough room to turn around. They hit our gates and trash cans every night.
  • 658 Venice Blvd Venice, CA 90291, USA - Venice
By living in the RV, as well as placing chairs and a grill in the middle of the "street" the owner is blocking a road yet uses the excuse of it being a public road so the Extra Storage Space company cannot take action and its clients must deal with this guy every day.
  • 237 6th Avenue Venice, CA - Venice
The house across the alley from my back gate has piles of trash that have been swarming with bugs. It's from a house on Highland Ave. It smells awful. Whose responsibility is it to clean up? The flies are getting out of control.
  • 910 Rose Avenue Los Angeles, California - Venice
900 block of Rose Ave. street lights are out, both sides of the street.
