Description

This isn't a rant about the inflated prices cable monopolies have. That would take pages.

This is about how Time Warner Cable gets relatively low-cost (rebilled to users) use of utility poles and airspace as conduits to generate millions of dollars of revenue, but leaves behind quite a mess.

Perhaps it's only in Venice, but the shoddy tangle of cables dangling from every other utility pole in our area might explain the intermittent cable service.

A heavy wind or slight drizzle frequently knocks out service. Again: that's another issue…

The poles near our home showcase a snarl of wires, along the lines of abandoned cables leading to a neighbor's house, perhaps leftovers from previous installations that were never removed.

Who is responsible for ensuring that Time Warner Cable's use privileges should mean that they don't leave behind plain sight public eyesores?

I called yesterday (03-29-13) and asked for a technician to come out and clean up the mess on our property, and hope that they don't leave a mess on somebody else's property in the process.
