USS Bullhead Park needs weed control. The photo shows weeds 4 feet high that have taken over this area, which is next to the AFB fence on one of the Eastern fields. It needs a weed wacker to cut them down followed by Roundup or similar weed killer.

Bullhead Park Baseball Diamonds. In back of every backstop is an area of rocks. The weeds have grown wild there. The photo is the back of Field 1. Since this was taken, the weeds have been cut back, but they will soon grow back unless they are killed. What is needed is an application of Roundup or similar weed killer to annihilate the growth. Let's hope that is scheduled.

Inside Gate at the East entrance to the Bullhead Dog Park is NOT functioning properly. The catch is rubbing and scraping when it attempts to close. The red arrow in the photo shows where the contact problem is. The gate hinges need to be adjusted.

Lots of trees at Bullhead Park are marked with a red "X" to be cut down. Next to the first Eastern parking lot are these three young ash trees. The one on the right is dead, the one in the middle is half dead, and the one on the left seems to be doing well, despite having been damaged early on by a weed wacker. All three are marked to be cut down, but I wonder why the one on the left needs to be.

The weeds inside the Bullhead Dog Park have reached epidemic proportions, some about 2 feet high. Reason: the weeds and grass inside the dog park have not been cut for over a month, since early April. This in spite of the other areas of the park, including the baseball fields, being cut twice or three times during the past month. The photo shows the difference between the grass outside being cut and the weeds and grass inside the dog park (beyond the chain link fence in the photo). Who is responsible for not cutting the grass inside the dog park?

Grass Needs Cutting in the Bullhead Dog Park. Weeds are growing rampant (see photo). General park area finally cut after 3 weeks growth. Baseball fields are cut often (wonder why). But the Dog Park has not been touched in 3 weeks. What is the problem?

Sprinklers on for 24 hours without shutting off at Bullhead Park near the fence to Kirtland Air Base. Photo taken Friday from 4pm to 7pm. Same sprinklers still on Saturday at noon. Must be a defective shut-off valve in the control system.

Photo shows a broken gate "keeper" to the Bullhead Dog Park. This is at the North entrance to the Bullhead Dog Park -- the section closest to the parking lot. The red arrow points to the broken keeper which is on the inside gate. The "keeper" is supposed to swing to open the gate and swing back to keep it closed, but it is broken and needs to be replaced.

This is the inner gate at the West entrance (main entrance) to the Bullhead Dog Park. The bottom bracket holding this gate has slipped down so that the chain link is dragging on the concrete. The photo shows how the concrete has been carved out by the chain link dragging over it for a long time. Since this gate gets used over 200 times a day, it's easy to understand how this can happen. Please send Parks out to fix it.

There is a big gap in the Bullhead dog park service gate at the East entrance to the East section of the dog park. Little dogs are squeezing through and escaping. The service truck cannot get in. Both sides of the gate are stuck in the ground and cannot be moved to close. The locking clasp is damaged. Both sides of the gate need to be raised 6 inches and straightened. See photo. PLEASE FIX ASAP..

Three ash trees in the photo. The one on the right is dead. The one in the center is dying. The one on the left still has a chance. They are located in back of the sidewalk and near the flagpole on the turf just South of the big parking lot which is just East of the main entrance off San Pedro.

The photo is courtesy of Steve Pierce. The upper half of the photo shows the former speed limit sign on the West side of Louisiana Blvd South of Gibson. That half of the photo is from a few years ago. That sign was somehow destroyed and never replaced. The bottom half of the photo shows how it looks now without the sign. The original address location of the sign was 1315 Louisiana Blvd. SouthEast.
Please have the traffic department replace the speed limit sign there. Thanks.
