Crime goes down easily when you dont arrest as many people, we all know that this whole side of the city has had more shooting and killings this winter than EVER. When a local bodega has gunfights in the street in the middle of the day while 5-10 criminal types are just hanging out there it makes one wonder WTF is going on here. I wonder how many of those kids hanging out at the bodega in the middle of the day have warrants out for them.

Machu Pichu(RIP) tried to expand their business a few years back to include sidewalk seating and Lt Hoffman shut them down on that idea, too dangerous he said. Meanwhile the bodega is a criminal hotspot and nothing is done.

This corner is a nightmare, continues to get worse along with the surrounding area. J P Deli and the barber shop across the street are magnets for thugs. I agree with Marco. The city uses more resources nitpicking business owners than it does addressing obvious criminal activity.

I just saw this comment about Farren and Fulton, I so agree, this entire street has turned into a den of crime, filth and zoning violations. This is why this Mayor needs a reality check, so many parts of this city are sliding into a nightmare of crime and scummy landlords such as Mandy Real Estate. This corner is already a drug store during the winter. Why does New Haven need four hundred barbershops on one street, all are a two deal situation, haircut and drugs to go. Looseys being sold all over the city, the smoke shop on Grand Ave where I take my kids, yes I do, to get looseys , if that place is that busy selling looseys, I am doing something wrong.. We are in for a summer from hell and you all better start going to meetings in your neighborhoods. I have not seen any meetings posted in a long time. What happened to our alderpersons!!!!!!!!!!By the way, loooseys are cigs sold out of the pk two for a dollar 3 for a dollar....Brings in all kinds of scum..
