It is very difficult to find a place to park a bike at Fuel. There are no parking meters or signposts in front and there is only one signpost remotely nearby. The workers at Fuel told me that they don't think the 8.5' sidewalk is wide enough for a bike rack. This would be the idealest location in the city for on-street bike parking (aka a bike corral). Although there is plenty of road width, parking is not allowed in front of Fuel because of where the stop line was placed at the intersection. You could leave a good ten feet before the corner and still have at least 15 linear feet for on-street bike parking before you would run into automobile parking. I estimate that putting racks here would allow for the installation of a row of about four inverted-U racks installed at a slight angle, with a total capacity for eight bikes and no loss of auto parking.
