I agree with you. If we have this major snow storm on Sunday/Monday, we will all have a very serious problem. The city needs to make a decision and tag and tow before the storm/

You need to call Honda Smith at Public Works and ask her about the snow ticket enforcement issue 203-946-7700. Your not going to like the answer. Typical New Haven all bark- no bite.

I almost got into an accident with a school bus today because of the narrow street on Lexington Ave. Even with the parking ban issue tonight it is still going to be a mess next week with the storm coming because of the refusal to enforce the parking ban last week. You see the streets were never adequately cleared.
With the way this administration has acted these past two months I think we are in for a tough two years.

Peat Meadow Road is in the same state. I came off Frontage Road and just before the curve a SUV was parked in the street because the road was not plowed on the opposite side.

I have lost track of all the SUVs I've seen in this part of town that are afraid to pull their tires up onto the snow which makes them end up parking IN THE ROAD. I might just experiment one day and just leave my car double parked in front of my place just to see how long, if ever, it makes it before getting a ticket.

The city has to start issuing tickets for things to improve. I hope they will reply to these posts.

The Department of Public Works is responsible for on street snow removal and the Livable City Initiative handles enforcement of property owners clearing their walks. Transportation, Traffic, and Parking handles ticketing and towing during declared snow emergencies. Unfortunately this issue was listed under policing issues and did not reach us here in a timely manner.
