What neighborhood is this? Um, call the cops. You could save a life. Call from a payphone if you don't want to do it from your home address. Give the person's name, location, car description and lic plate #. You can also fill out and mail an anonymous form:

Calling the police in New Haven for anything besides a murder or burglary is pointless and a waste of time but you may as well see for yourself. documenting it here is probably the best thing, that way when he kills a family while driving around in a rage looking for more meth the police can be held accountable for not doing a damn thing.

Next time you see him in his car smoking, take the license plate number, the make, model and color of the care, and a description of this person (race, height, weight, color of clothes) and call it in to the NHPD (203-946-6316). Tell them you want a patrol car to investigate NOW as this person is smoking crack and appears to be acting dangerous. Leave the police your name and phone number and tell them you want the officer TO CALL YOU when they they get to thne area - not to come to your house. If a car does not respond in 5-10 minutes call back and ask dispatch where they are and when they will get there. And when the patrol car shows up if the officer does not call you, call dikspatch back and tell them you want to talk to the responding officer and that they should tell him to call you back. When the officer calls, get his name, ask what shift he works and ask for his cell phone number. Tell him you want to be able to call him directly when you see things in your area. Most officers appreciate having a person they can rely on in a neighborhood. The police DO need our help but we have to call them first. I call all the time with reports of dangerous, suspicious or illegal activity on my block and I have the numbers of several officers that work the neighborhood and their shifts. Develop a good relationship with the police and they WILL become a good thing in your neighborhood. Good luck and let's hear how this works out.
