  My neighbors upstairs at this corner have TWICE had their cars rear-ended by drivers speeding from Market to MLK on 53rd who ran this stop sign, in each case the cars were hit hard enough to be totaled to give you an idea of the rate of speed. We are lucky no one has been killed at this intersection

  High speed drivers tear down the street frequently. Cars are sideswiped and children are at risk. A traffic circle or roundabout is needed.

  The existing speed bumps are not enough to mitigate the dangerous driving and excessive speeds that frequent this street. As drivers and pedestrians we have had countless near misses from irresponsible drivers. There are at a minimum 18 children (18 and younger) on the block between MLK and Genoa alone.

  This is so necessary. I’m not comfortable walking with my child because of the incessant speeding and reckless driving on 53rd st Yesterday a speeding car on 53rd destroyed a few other cars and broke a telephone pole clear in half despite the speed bumps and stop sign. At a minimum we need better speed bumps and hopefully a roundabout at 53rd and Genoa.

  Because of gps routing 53rd st is used as a thoroughfare by people who play too much GTA 5. Drivers blow through the stop signs at 53rd and genoa all day and night and the existing speed bumps are useless. Unless serious traffic calming measures are implemented it is only a matter of time before a pedestrian is killed.
