Illegal parking continues. Cars park in the middle of the street blocking an entire lane. Often left overnight. Would appreciate parking officer checking Cave Avenue and Kaleetan Place routinely. City provides no access to parking officer to report violators.

This issue has been reported to the BIPD parking enforcement officer and patrol officers so they can pay special attention to the area. Thanks for letting us know, and don't hesitate to report back if the problem persists.

It would be helpful if residents had a mechanism for contacting the parking enforcement officer when a vehicle is illegally parked in our neighborhood. When I requested this on one occasion I was instructed to call 911. I did call and no one responded.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Currently the best option for getting enforcement on illegal/improper parking is indeed to call 911and include plate numbers if you have them. Ask the call taker to have the officer call you back to find out what they observed and what actions they took. The department only has one Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) and his work days vary, so you may get a call from a regular patrol officer in lieu of the PEO. The PEO has been asked to monitor parking issue on Cave Avenue and hopefully he can have some impact on the problem.
