Thanks, but I'm not sure what that will do. On Wooster at any given time there are usually around 3 illegally parked cars (often one in this crosswalk), and I've never seen a single one ticketed or towed (except on street cleaning days).

what is the current fine for parking in a crosswalk? does the city have the authority to raise the fine to a level that would have more of a deterrent effect?

We patrol the area on a regular basis during our hours of operation. All vehicles found in violation are ticketed. We will continue to enforce the area.

Maybe we could also enforce the laws during the evenings? Today I counted 8 illegally parked cars along Wooster Street at approximately 7 PM. This actually seemed like an uncommonly low number for a Friday night. Several of the cars are parked close to intersections, which blocks the line of sight for pedestrians and drivers, making it more dangerous to cross the street.

Two officers patrolled Wooster St at different times today and issued citations to all vehicles in violation. We will continue to monitor the area.

Perhaps the police department could also follow the parking rules in this area.

At the same time, the police officer was apparently not there to do anything to take care of this car blatantly blocking the crosswalk.
