Description
Lyon St in New Haven is zone 5 parking where residents need to pay to park here. We need the street to be plowed so we can park here. Daily abuse of the parking regulations- people who don't have parking permit taking the few spots that residents have shoveled out for themselves. CAN THE CITY COME PLOW THIS STREET SO WE HAVE SOMEWHERE TO PARK??? We don't all have driveways, there is no where to park!!!!!!

This section should be added to the recently distributed "list of narrow streets," lest our insurance companies find out our municipality cannot effectively plow streets for emergency personnel to pass through, and our rates rocket up.
I, too, witnessed the "firetruck test" yesterday, and was horrified when, after about 10 minutes of blaring the horn, neighbors finally came out to move 2 vehicles to let it pass AND THEY RETURNED TO THEIR ORIGINAL PARKING SPOTS.
So, are we to understand that, should any of the 3 apartment buildings, or roughly 7 houses catch fire, or someone should require an ambulance, this will be the method of response? Stop at the top of the block, blare horn, wait for neighbors to respond, dress, come outside, and finally ATTEMPT to remove their cars from their ice-encased parking spots? Then, respond to the emergency.
