Description

The trees of East Rock Park, along Ridge Rd, at the New Haven / Hamden town line, have been unmonitored, and dangerous. In the past year three have come down. and Hamden DPW has the responsibility of removing them from the road, as the town line is at the curb of the road. The trees that have not fallen yet, hang in other trees. Trees that have fallen, within the tree line, leaning, or hanging from trees leaning out over the road, due to the pitch of the embankment that borders the road, and is only 5 to 10 feet, within the park, within New Haven. The image is just one of the dead trees, leaning against trees over the road, that are now being pushed over towards the road due to the added weight. I could not understand how to post the remaining photos, or other trees, or the street light that belongs to the Parks Department, as part of a line of decorative street lights leading down to Pardee Garden, which is down, and has exposed power lines at the exposed base. The chronic dumping and littering, that lines the road, from passing motorists has been ignored so long that a I started picking up the trash every two weeks. I have been joined by several other neighbors, on Ridge Rd, but to see the true volume of trash, examine the first 100 yards on Park Rd, on the Park side, the west side of the road, between Ridge Rd, and Pardee Garden. It is blight.
