numerous dead trees, dead limbs, overhanging the roadway. This has been unmaintained for 20 years, and in the last year, four trees have come down, closing the road, and in the past two months, six dead limbs, of sizes great enough to cave in roofs of autos, and/or shatter windshields, have come down. Neither PW or the Parks Department removed the limbs; individual Police Officers dragged them from the traffic lanes to reopen the roadway. Hamden handled tree removal, which closed the road when it happened. One falling limb caused a one vehicle MVA, as the operator of a small pickup truck, tried to avoid the falling limb, lost control, and his vehicle rolled over, and came to rest against a pole carrying an electric transformer. I have reported this several times over the past year. All reports, images, are being maintained in files.

The trees of East Rock Park, along Ridge Rd, at the New Haven / Hamden town line, have been unmonitored, and dangerous. In the past year three have come down. and Hamden DPW has the responsibility of removing them from the road, as the town line is at the curb of the road. The trees that have not fallen yet, hang in other trees. Trees that have fallen, within the tree line, leaning, or hanging from trees leaning out over the road, due to the pitch of the embankment that borders the road, and is only 5 to 10 feet, within the park, within New Haven. The image is just one of the dead trees, leaning against trees over the road, that are now being pushed over towards the road due to the added weight. I could not understand how to post the remaining photos, or other trees, or the street light that belongs to the Parks Department, as part of a line of decorative street lights leading down to Pardee Garden, which is down, and has exposed power lines at the exposed base. The chronic dumping and littering, that lines the road, from passing motorists has been ignored so long that a I started picking up the trash every two weeks. I have been joined by several other neighbors, on Ridge Rd, but to see the true volume of trash, examine the first 100 yards on Park Rd, on the Park side, the west side of the road, between Ridge Rd, and Pardee Garden. It is blight.

Please Help. In the past two weeks a daily, and nightly parade of loud dump trucks has disrupted the quality of life here, with their speeding and loud engines. Also the use of their "Jake Brake" to slow, as they speed south on Ridge Rd, and try to slow to make the bend at Park Rd, is constant, and irritating. Last night over 60 passes were made by these loud trucks between midnight and sunrise. During daylight hours it is constant with as many as 20 passes an hour at times. This is in addition to the loud, racing motorcycles, that lack mufflers, and smaller trucks, and cars with illegal mufflers. I do not know how many other neighborhoods are suffering through this assault, but roads are marked as to where they can and cannot travel, and most residential neighborhoods are marked , so as not to allow this kind of truck traffic, but HPD has not responded to complaints asking for help in slowing this onslaught of unnecessary noise. Thank You for any help or feedback that anyone can offer.

On the east side of the street, at the curb line, between the sidewalk and curb, is a tree, that has begun to die. It is some 40' tall, with the inward upper half, where the trunk splits off, is dead, along with all the limbs and branches connected to that portion. The tree has blocked several vehicles involved in accidents at the intersection over the years, from running up on the lawn, and in one case stopped at truck , traveling north, struck in the side by an auto that did not stop coming off Park Rd, from running over my neighbors children who were 8 and 9 years of age at the time. I also understand that all the trees on the East Rock Park side of the street, which have to be maintained by New Haven, have been neglected for years, along with litter pickup, and overgrowth of shrubs, and weeds from the park, by the New Haven Parks Department, which is headquartered a block south, because the supervision there does not consider it a priority. Speaks volumes on their leadership to ignore their mess every day they drive into work form suburban towns.

At your East Rock facility, the main garage, storage facility for the NHParks Department, at the curb line on Park Rd, from State St, onto Ridge Rd, to the large "East Rock Park" sign at Ridge and Davis, on park property, the amount of dead trees, debris, and litter, has been unattended for over a year. It is a disgusting Eyesore, and the lack of attention to it by those that are responsible for cleaning up the parks, that come and go from your barn daily , particularly the supervisory staff there, who have to drive past it numerous times daily, makes this an even greater eyesore. Photos will be forthcoming with the reports to Action News and NHR. Thank You.

Trees that line Ridge Rd, across from my home, from Davis St, down to Park Rd, are unmaintained, and have been so for over two decades. As they fall, as one did last June, Hamden Police have to come out, close the road, get Hamden Public Works to cut up and remove the dead, fallen trees, which have fortunately not struck a passing motor vehicle, yet. Hamden public works employees say the trees are the responsibility of the New Haven Parks Department. Attempts to speak with someone at their headquarters on Edgewood Av have been difficult. Right Now, there are dozens of large trees overhanging the road with very large limbs, that will crush a car if they fall on them. The number of dead trees hanging over the roadway is six; just waiting to fall. The number of dead limbs, with weight enough to crush a motor vehicle, or shatter through a windshield of a moving motor vehicle is numerous, but only a tree expert who comes out here, and does an inspection will be able to direct appropriate trimming and removal of the dangerous limbs. Thank you for any time and efforts expended to resolve this dangerous situation.

The last accident almost resulted in 2 children waiting for a school bus being strck, at the intersection of Park Rd and Ridge Rd. Violations are chronic and various(speeding, trucks were they are banned, failure to stop for the stop sign on Park Rd, horn blowing at school buses stopped for children, etc.). There as no enforcement, and assessment at the intersection of Park/Ridge to calm traffic.

Located between DD and Bob's Sunoco; original island was converted to a garden, which has been abandoned and is falling apart. Portions of the timbers are falling into the street, and it is an eyesore due to lack of maintenance.
