Description
On Bradley Street outside the New Haven Academy, a tree has has been very badly topped. This raises several issues. Was this done by a licensed arborist? Did someone pay for this to be done? Were the correct permissions obtained? Where the local resident and/or neighborhood association (Lincoln-Bradley Neighborhood association) notified beforehand? Does notification need to be given by law to the local residents?

It would appear this tree is very badly diseased or dead. If not t before it is now. Maybe this in preparation for the school being torn down?
There is supposed to be a sign posted on the tree before it is taken with instructions on how to object. I believe its 24 or 28 hours in advance. If you miss the sign the saw takes it. There is no requirement to inform any neighborhood association.
At least for now, make a change-encourage your alderperson to lobby for the tree removal process protocol before UI takes them all down. Right now there is NO NOTICE REQUIREMENT FOR UI TO REMOVE ANY TREE !!!
