  Surely something can be done. You have acknowledged this issue many times yet nothing has changed and the situation just gets worse and worse.

  The weed cover on the pond is called "duckweed". It is an intentional food source for the waterfowl and they do eat it. The tree overgrown on the island may look unattractive, but that growth is often left in bird sanctuaries as habitat and shelter for the waterfowl. The ducks and geese use that island in it's current state as shelter, and to nest their eggs. But, the blackberry bush overtaking the island may be a problem. So are the tennis balls and basket balls from the courts above in the pond, and fishing tackle littered by poachers. On 12/20/2020 I witnessed the Oakland Parks Dept. working on repairing the water pump system to get the fountain/filter system working.
