The sidewalk on the western side of Old Dominion stops about 10 feet short of 37th St., meaning pedestrians have to go into the busy and dangerous two-lane road in order to continue toward 37th St. Please continue the sidewalk the extra 10 or so feet to the road. Thanks!

Thank you for contacting Arlington County with your concern. In accordance with federal accessibility standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 requires all sidewalk projects to provide an accessible path for all persons. The sidewalk could not directly connect to 37th Street due to the grades of the existing driveway were too steep for wheelchair access, therefore additional handicap ramps were installed to cross over and back.
