The Italian Canadian Walk of Fame on College between Clinton and Grace (north side) uses highly polished marble panels, set into the sidewalk. In the winter, and in the rain, they become extremely slippery and constitute a hazard for pedestrians. Given that they end up hidden under snow, people don't even know that the footing is treacherous until it's too late. I have almost wiped out twice, seen at least 3 other people wipe out and saved one older woman from falling. These panels should not be there, they're ridiculously slippery, and covering the whole stretch under heavy coats of salt does no good for the road, the sidewalk, animals or the environment. Fix it before someone really hurts themselves. The Walk of Fame people know this is an issue, but haven't done anything to mitigate it. I'd hate to see someone hurt and the ensuing lawsuit against the city.
