At Whitney and Huntington this morning, all four corners were piled up with ice, as were all of the sidewalks leading in and out from all directions. The crossing guard, who is as conscientious and kind as one would ever wish, had no place to stand when she was not in the street helping kids across. So it was uncomfortable for her , and a challenge for her to perform her job. Also, much of the sidewalk leading from Whitney Ave to the main entrance of Hooker Middle School was covered with ice, and so kids and parents had to walk in the roadway.
