Wooster Square Park looks like a rubbish heap! There has been no pick-up in at least two days. All bins are overflowing and welcoming vermin. With a large tax dollar contribution supplied to the city from a small community the least you can do is empty the barrels daily. Tonight we have a Menorah lighting event in the park and Fri. our neighborhood tree lighting surrounded by garbage. Please do your job!!!

The photo is only one of 8 barrels that look the same or worse...

Maybe if your neighbors stop using it as their daily personal trash receptacles this would not occur. Why should my city tax dollars pay for private use of public trash barrels? It is illegal to bring trash from your home and put it in a public receptacle. If you put half of the energy you use reporting these things into taking pictures of the people that are overfilling the barrels illegally maybe it will resolve itself.

I agree that Wooster Square Park needs to be better maintained in general. The grass and bushes are unkempt and overrun with weeds year round. But it's absolutely true that it would look much less like a pigsty if neighbors were not so prone to dumping their bags of household garbage in trash cans that are put there to accommodate the small scraps of litter that passersby leave. It is shameful to see trash cans in a public park overflowing with bags of people's household crap, but this problem is not the city's fault (for a change!).
