A property owner adjacent to a sidewalk would be responsible for the maintenance of the sidewalk, including keeping it clean, according to our ordinances. In addition, picking up after a pet is important for helping to prevent stormwater runoff pollution.

An owner or keeper walking, exercising or otherwise having his/her animal outside the confines of his/her own property, whether public or private, shall carry and utilize a means to pick up and dispose of excreta deposited by his/her animal by way of, but not limited to, a scoop and a bag. The contents of the bag shall be disposed of on the confines of the owner's or keeper's property or in a proper receptacle designated for such disposal.

I will go 439 Stillwood today and advise the dog owner to pick up the waste in accordance with code Sec. 4-21 Animal Waste.

Any follow-up from the animal warden? The area around the waste disposal station is a mine field and is discusting. This family is very argumentitive and defiant when confronted about cleaning up after their dogs. Our HOA has had repeated complaints from homeowners who have seen them allowing their dogs to use the bathroom and then just walk away. Could you also tell us what the fine is. Thank You

I went to this address on 11-26 and left a notice advising the dog owner of the ordinance. I can not issue a citation unless I see the dog owner violating the ordinance. I will keep an eye on the area when I can.

What about the Dog Urine ! Can't pick it up but it burns up spots in my grass. Keep your dogs from trespassing in my yard or....
