The City has not plowed the streets nor maintained the sidewalks going over the Olive Street Bridge to downtown. Access to turn down William is limited, I can't get out of my driveway, because the street has not been plowed. In addition, William St. is a one way street, and because the street has not been plowed there are cars coming down in the opposite direction because they cannot get out via Lyon. Hard to believe how much I pay in taxes, both personal and business tax. It makes me want to move out of the city. The City needs to respond to this part of Wooster Square Area. William, Lyon, only part of which was plowed is a significant part of the city, a key link between Wooster and the Arts District. Perhaps the city thinks William still has the reputation from the 1970s, but it has changed. Not sure where the Alderman is in all of this??

Thanks for reporting this. It sounds like many complaints were logged and the city needs a new approach next winter. Please open an issue again if plowing becomes an issue this winter.
Also, I believe that sidewalks need to be maintained much more carefully in the winter - in fact they should be maintained at least as well as the streets, since a very large proportion of people living in New Haven do not have the option of driving and need clear sidewalks in order to get to work, access bus stops, etc. This past winter, there were hundreds of injuries due to ice falls and children were being forced to walk in the middle of the streets like Whalley Ave. That's just unacceptable.
