This home is a three family unit that seems to need some brown garbage toters. Garbage is put out in thin plastic bags that are often torn open by animals, allowing garbage to blow around and sometimes the poor garbage men to get doused in food waste when they pick up a torn bag.

Before reporting to SeeClickFix, I emailed the Livable City representative and also the Office of Sustainablity because I didn't want to embarrass the tenants; getting my own brown toter was quite a task, requiring several phone calls and e-mails. However, a week and a half has passed with no response yet.

Can you help these folks get the proper containers and info on how to use them? Thank you!

Just checking--any updates? Why the wait list? I think these are the sorts of things that make good people want to move out of New Haven. I work hard, pay my taxes, use less than my share of city resources. The brown toter program has been going on for at least 18 months now. Why is it so hard to get a garbage can?

There is a wait list because toters are replacement toters for ones which have been lost, stolen and/or damaged. At the start of city's toter program, every address received proper number of toters. We are working through a replacement list. Address received toters and information originally and have not reported toters missing since then. If toters are missing/stolen and or damaged please call us at 203-946-7700 and we will take care of it.

Trash would still be picked up if in plastic bags while residents are waiting on replacement toters.Thanks.

TRASH ALL OVER THE SIDEWALK, DIAPERS, BAGS OF FECES, STILL NO GARBAGE CAN! I suggest instead of someone at city hall sitting around re-categorizing issues all day they go out in the neighborhoods and see who has been stealing the cans, they ALL have serial numbers that I would assume are on record.

I agree with Jose. Diapers, cigarettes, and pizza boxes. Gross. I don't know if the place is owner occupied or tenants. If tenants, they may not know how to request new toters or be motivated to do so. It seems that when the city first started the program, there should have been accounting for the likelihood that a certain percentage would go missing and need to be replaced. At any rate, is there any ETA on replacement toters? Do the residents themselves need to request them or can you listen to us, the neighbors who are tired of their street looking so ghetto?

The owners of this triplex condo are Carl Davia and Thomas Cacace for units A&B, Joseph W Williams Jr owns unit C. Carl Davia(203) 407-0756) is a banker in Hamden and also owns 97 Lenox with Thomas Cacace which is the apartment building accessed at the end of Revere Court. They have never in my experience cleared the snow or the bushes blocking the sidewalk. Joseph W Williams Jr (855-4CT-SBDC joseph.williams@uconn.edu)works for the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce go figure. I think they all deserve calls and emails to see if they know anything about the garbage in front of their property. Happy Holidays!

It looks like one of the units at 130 has a pit bull type dog tied to a tree outside with no shelter now too. Garbage is still all over.

To my knowledge Animal Control does not monitor this site on a regular basis. When you see the dog tied to the tree call them at 203 946-8110

If you see the dog outside call animal control at 203 946-8110 if it is after hours call the police at 203 946-6316. In weather like this the dog can freeze to death, Animal control does not monitor this site and I am not sure if the police does.

I got a message letting me know the issue has been open for 211 days. Yes it has. The tenants seem to be making an effort to put trash in bags instead of loose on the curb, but still no brown toters. WHY???
