People are crossing this very dangerous intersection. There is noone directing traffic and the pedestrian signs are not working. Reported at 9:50 a.m. 9/3/2013

The pedestrian lights on the south side of South Srontage do not turn on in response to people pushing the buttons. Only the button on the north corner of South Frontage functions. Thus, if you are coming from the southwest corner, you must cross two very dangerous intersections without the benefit of a pedestrian walk signal. I just saw a number of people dodging cars there.

I also reported this issue on 9/9/13 and here is the response I got:

Department of Transportation, Traffic and Parking wrote on 09/09/2013 at 05:01PM
This traffic signal is currently under contract and has not yet been turned over to the city for maintenance. We will contact the contractor and inform them of the problem. Thank you for the post.

Has anything been done yet? It has been nearly a month and I have heard no update.

The other day I tried to cross while a contractor was assisting a truck backing up into the construction site. He actually waved me and another pedestrian to cross directly in the face of oncoming traffic! His focus was on the construction truck, not making sure that it was actually safe to wave people across the road. I crossed when he told me to, and found that he had directed me to walk into the path of an oncoming car.
