There have been mid-day muggings the past two weeks on Court Street, between Olive and Academy. They have happened during the DAY, during lunchtime. Neighbors say the muggers are 3 boys. I'm not sure if they are the same for each of the 4 but please keep a look out. Daylight muggings in New Haven are unthinkable.

The Downtown-Wooster Square Community Management Team is a great forum for these issues, a good way to receive the monthly crime stats, and a way to speak with the district manager each month.
The meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6pm in a meeting room at city hall.

I will pass this and the other thread (http://www.seeclickfix.com/issues/7714) to Lt. Sweeney and see what information can be found.

Was driving on Chapel at 9:30 tonight when a group of ten 14-18 year old boys on 6 bikes came over the bridge in taking up both sides of the road.
We turned around to follow. As we got to Chapel and Olive two Officers jumped from their car and arrested two of the kids while the rest fled. We followed them to Jocelyn square where there were two Officers that we let know that the kids were fleeing police.

I welcome officers dining in my neighborhood.
The more the better. Unpaid protection is the best kind!
Seems like the officer was sent to respond to traffic issues because that is still a concern with neighbors.
I saw two officers arrest two kids last night on bikes at Court and Chapel before I could even alert the police to the group.
Does anybody know if the muggers were the two caught last night?

I was informed by the NHPD that there have been 3 robberies reported in the Court St area and that they are working on solid leads in the 3 cases.
I will let you know if there's any more information from the management team

I have posted some documents to the DWSCMT google group concerning how to report street light outages, July and August crime stats, as well as a flyer for our September 15th meeting which is a meet & greet of NHPD officers - which may be of interest to those on this thread.

The response to national disaster is great but it's a real shame that so many citizens take advantage of the negative situations.
I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there's always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.
This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys "angels" got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

We had a terrific response from the NHPD. We have installed a camera and lights are coming on the Court Street Bridge. Also, the law office and the Smoothie Building got their parking lot lights on which has helped tremendously. We have not had an incident since Christmas Eve."
