Description

Hi there.

Over the winter I noticed all the crack sealant work on all city roads that was performed last summer was de-laminating, ripped up and found all over the roads in little balls and stings of tar.

These tar balls were also found working their way into all the storm drains, where they will surely start to harden and plug up our storm drains.

We are wondering what the city is doing to ensure a refund from the company who performed the work, as well as what they have been doing to protect other resources like storm storm drains from injury related to the amount of tar balls entering because of the poor work. We noticed not much was done during the end of the winter form the city to help with this. We have also been looking through meeting minutes to hopefully see this being discussed. But it has not. So we are hoping that by bringing it into light the city can start to look into it.

It seems 80% of the crack sealing that was done last year is now missing and in our storm drains. Allowing for potential clogging, faster road erosion and now we have to pay to reseal the same cracks again.
