Deskripsyon

The timer on these new lights at Whitney and Waite need to be adjusted. You sit for several minutes on Waite waiting for the light to change even at odd hours when there are no cars on Whitney Ave at all.

That seems to be needed at all the intersections from the New Haven line up to Skiff Street. Ever since the new traffic signals became operational, the waiting times on all the side streets has become excessive, and traffic jams seem to be much more common than they were before the signal upgrade.

Traffic calming? Yeah I feel real calm at 5:00 in the morning in a line of 10 cars waiting to pull onto Whitney Ave when there isn't a car in sight. Ridiculous.

Agreed. We have the same issue at Hawthorne ave and Whitney intersection (please upvote this issue ). The end result if the new timings is frustrated people running lights.

it is the new zen of traffic calming in action. And you think they did this by mistake? No this likgtis are just what they wanted. I am not kidding, it IS all about traffic calming.

I guess the powers that be are not listening to us. The lines of cars waiting on these side streets is just ridiculous. Waiting in a line of cars waiting to get onto Whitney Ave when there's not a car on it, is just plain stupid. Traffic calming my eye.

Adding a comment here in hopes this can get some attention. There is no excuse for the behavior of the lights on this stretch of Whitney. This is not traffic calming, it only causes cars to waste fuel. I've seen lights in other areas that change just as soon as one car approaches on a side street. It's only a matter of time before an impatient driver causes an accident.
