Yes. Please fix this problem. It has been this way for far too long. The sidewalks that were supposed to be replaced in front of 127 E Edenton have been marked for repair for months but nothing has been done. Can we get an estimated date for that too?

Does the above comment mean the City of Raleigh has stopped following see click fix? If that's the case what is the point of asking the City to assist with these issues? I hope someone will explain the comment. With the exception of the few flamers who get into personal word wars I believe this site is extremely helpful and I think the City has been great in responding to a lot of these issues.

these broken iron covers are everywhere! I can't even begin to list all the ones i see with a hole worn thru Many of the streets are in trouble with horrible bumps and holes.. edenton and Hillsborough in the downtown area are the most notable... My car feels like it is getting destroyed. and I drive slowly and carefully. City workers know where all of theae holes are.

Nope, just means there are a LOT more sidewalk projects throughout the City than there are resources to accomplish them. We have a contractor who evaluates the sidewalks and marks portions of them to be either repaired or replaced. Then these areas are prioritized and the City's contractors do the actual repairs. There are often weeks or months between when the sidewalks are marked and when they are repaired. Please bear in mind that this is a new program. Up until two or three years ago the City did not maintain sidewalks (the abutting property owners were responsible). So we are catching up on decades of backlogged repairs. Generally, for projects like this that sometimes take a while, once a job has been put on the schedule and a work order created for it we post a reasonable expectation for when the issue will be completed and will close the SCF issue to save our internal staff the time necessary to exchange several more emails and SCF postings upon completion. That doesn't mean we are ignoring the request. We have made sure to schedule it and the work will be completed. Closing the SCF inquiry at this point simply helps us to run this system without spending a lot of tax dollars for extra steps that may not be completely necessary. This represents our attempt to keep this a cost-effective service. That being said we will leave the SCF issue open for you if you wish. Just let us know.
