  Hey A--hole,
  That's my car! My car is not the reason you could not walk of the sidewalk. Do you not see the bushes and overgrown weeds hanging in the public right-of-way? That's the public nuisance. That's the person being disrespectful and preventing you and your mangy dog from walking on the sidewalk. Do you not see EVERY car on this block parked on the sidewalk because we live on a very narrow street. Our cars would get hit. I've lived in this neighborhood for 33 years without and issue. You sound like a gentrifier. Are you new here? Do you even live on this street? Why don't you report the potholes or graffiti or abandoned vehicles. Leave your hard working neighbors alone. I'm not bothering you. I don't bother my neighbors. Find something else to do.

  You mentioned that you have to dodge speeding vehicles? Do you report those speeding cars. That is exactly the reason everyone on this street parks on the sidewalk. Cars run the stop sign at this corner as if it's invisible. Report that. We have had 4-5 cars hit over the years from drivers running that stop sign. Stay on you own block. The people on this block are tired of paying insurance deductibles from our cars getting side swiped. Again we've lived here for over 30 years and YOU PEOPLE move in and want to complain and cause problems. Typical gentrifier.

  I’ve reported those overgrown weeds on the sidewalk months ago and the city didn’t do anything about it. Either the owner or the city needs to clean it, it’s the major obstruction passing on the sidewalk

  Thank you MnM. Tell that to Gentrifying George. Every car in his picture is parked on the sidewalk. The issue is those damn weeds preventing pedestrians from walking down the street. But I bet Gentrifying George didn't report that.

  Typical Oaklander comment from someone who thinks they can do whatever the want without regard to anyone else. Gentrifier? No! If you are not illiterate, why don’t you look up California Code, Vehicle Code - VEH § 22500. Let me guess...you don’t care. I understand the need for what you are saying but 99% of the people leave room for people to get by on the sidewalk, this jerk didn’t! And yes, I have had to dodge speeding cars...and most of those people live in the neighborhood. Again, let me guess, you don’t care!

  Are you blind? There is plenty of room for you to pass on the sidewalk. The problem is the bushes impeding onto the sidewalk. If the bushes weren't there, you could pass. Your statement has zero merit and makes zero sense.

  It seems like the city or the owner of the weedy/crappy mess on the sidewalk is not going to get resolved anytime soon, until than maybe pick an other spot to park? This argument is getting ugly between neighbors.

  You are not reasoning with anyone. Your points are nonsensical. You are refusing to admit the real problem. Again, the issue is the bushes. So in your eyes, the bushes take precedence? You see no problem with them taking over the sidewalk? I parked so another car could park behind me. To avoid taking up both parking spaces. But I'm done wasting my time with this. You are not worth it.
  Oh, and I apologize for calling you a gentrifier. Calling you a gentrifier implies that you may be adding something beneficial to the neighborhood. Which you clearly are not.
  Stay on your own block. The neighbors on this block look out for one another and help each other out. You aren't wanted over here. So leave us alone.

  MnM there isn't much parking available on this street. Which is why I park to allow another car to squeeze in behind me.
  He isn't being very neighborly by reporting my car so I can get a ticket when I have no choice but to park on the sidewalk which I've been doing for 30 years. I keep to myself and don't bother anyone. We pay property taxes. I don't need to give the City of Oakland anymore money by paying an unwarranted parking ticket from parking in front of my own g**d*** house. But I digress. Thanks MnM.

  What ever happened to putting a nice note on someone's car. That would have been more neighborly than reporting my car because he feels like I was parked too close to the bush.

  Or how about just cleaning up the sidewalk ourselves? I am leaning towards that solution! Sometimes you just gotta do what you got to do and leave a note to the inconsiderate neighbor on his door who is not interested to keep his property clean and orderly for the rest of us, and let him know. I will be out there tomorrow with weed killer and a trimmer and be done with it! Peace!
