I was wondering why the people who live in that house don't ask their gardener or landscaper to trim the limbs on the crepe myrtle so people can see the sign.
Trimming would help, but the driver has already turned down a dead end before they see the sign. It would be very helpful and safer if the sign was moved up to the top of Epping Forest. I believe that would help cut down on lost drivers. Many of these are cutting through the neighborhood to avoid backups on JF and AD.
Thank you for reporting this issue to the City of Brookhaven. We have logged your request and will update you on the progress of this issue as we begin work.
SeeClickFix service request audit initiated. Issue ID 692538 still in ACKNOWLEDGED status. Submitted request to City of Brookhaven Public works to provide status update.
It appears the City removed the Dead End sign altogether. Is another alternative being installed? Without the sign, turnaround traffic has increased significantly because drivers trying to cut through don't know it's a dead end.
There is a definite need for replacement of the sign and putting it closer to top of Epping. We are seeing increased traffic cut through from Ashford Dunwoody and Johnson Ferry. People are ignoring the STOP at Epping and Stratfield and speeding down into the cul d sac to try to find a quicker cut through.
This is a major safety issue. There are many children playing in this area and cars pick up a great deal of speed by the time they reach this stretch of Stratfield Dr.. By the time they realize there is no outlet and go around the cul de sac they are so frustrated they pick pick up even more speed on the way out. We have all seen the infamous kid on a bike coming out a driveway and a car going to fast to avoid. That is what is at play here. A Dead End or No Outlet sign would help.
Please change the sign. I would like to suggest a "No Outlet" sign be put on the street signs at the corner of Epping Forest Dr and Stratfield Dr. Traffic has increased and I think one closer to the intersection would improve the safety of the intersection and reduce turnaround traffic down a dead end. Attaching picture of suggested signage.
