By my recollection, the garbage bins being "stored" here, in open view, is a relatively new phenomenon. If the tenants are new they may not know this. So if the owner, or any of them, happen to be reading this perhaps, say after tomorrow morning's pickup, the containers can be returned to the back of the house. (Otherwise, a neighbor (say, me) will do it.)

Trouble is all that stuff on the ground may not make it to the curb. And if it does, the trash/recycling folks may not take it off the ground. They certainly won't take the box spring.
The bins have always been stored there since we started single stream recycling. Since Nancy passed away, there is no one to care about the space.

I live two houses down and was about to report this myself. This mess has been there for a few days, the mattress much longer. Please take care of this soon.

Doug, A neighbor knocked on the doors and left notes to see who owns the property and who he can call about the mess. I seriosly doubt the tenants will take the time to make a bulk trash appointment. LCI needs to get involved here.

Has any action been taken on this at all? I just came back back into town last night after being gone since last Wednesday. I walked by this house on my way home this evening and see that the box springs is gone but that it still looks like a huge mess of garbage flowing over onto the sidewalk.

A neighbor talked to one of the tenants, but obviously nothing was done. The city recatagorized it to private property issue, I have no idea what that means. I still say LCI should be involved.

We will take a ride by today.

This neighbor just connected with the owner. He has multiple properties in East Rock. Is aware of the trash problem (it is mainly cardboard boxes), says it will be cleaned up by next week by which time his property managers will be less overwhelmed by apartment move-ins/outs occurring these weeks. They did clear out that box spring that had been there for a couple weeks. LCI, you know him, and vice versa. The neighborhood's trash pick-up day is Tuesday morning...my vote: please check status Tuesday and address at that point if necessary.

It seems like the property owner needs to tell his property manager to better educate the new tenants at lease signing time.

I found a resident home tonight and got the contact for the property manager. I called him and left a message at 7:51pm.
