Description
Please Help. In the past two weeks a daily, and nightly parade of loud dump trucks has disrupted the quality of life here, with their speeding and loud engines. Also the use of their "Jake Brake" to slow, as they speed south on Ridge Rd, and try to slow to make the bend at Park Rd, is constant, and irritating. Last night over 60 passes were made by these loud trucks between midnight and sunrise. During daylight hours it is constant with as many as 20 passes an hour at times. This is in addition to the loud, racing motorcycles, that lack mufflers, and smaller trucks, and cars with illegal mufflers. I do not know how many other neighborhoods are suffering through this assault, but roads are marked as to where they can and cannot travel, and most residential neighborhoods are marked , so as not to allow this kind of truck traffic, but HPD has not responded to complaints asking for help in slowing this onslaught of unnecessary noise. Thank You for any help or feedback that anyone can offer.

Thank you for contacting the Mayor's Office.
I have looked into your request and follow-up with the Traffic Authority Commission. Your complaint may be related to the August 14, 2019 Traffic Authority meeting, where a few residents from Davis Street complained in regards the speeding of oversized commercial trucks, huge dumpster haulers, city and school buses, which may have been using Davis Street towards Hartford Turnpike because of the recent installation of the traffic calming project on Ridge Rd. Below is the link to the Agenda of the Traffic Authority’s August 14th, 2019 meeting, along with the agenda, which includes the corresponding complaint related to Ridge Rd.
It would be in your best interest to attend the next Traffic Authority Commission meeting to voice your concerns. If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, please follow the instructions below on how to submit a request to the Traffic Authority Commission.
At the suggestion of Traffic Authority Commission Chairman Michael Iezzi this request will be handled by the Traffic Authority Commission. Mr. Iezzi advises that you write a letter to the Traffic Authority Commission to his attention requesting that this request be placed on the agenda so your concerns are addressed appropriately.

Also, there was feedback for this request from Lt. Sullivan of the Hamden Police Department.
He said the project on Dixwell Ave, which the Trucks were traveling to was finished last night. The volume of traffic should be less now.
