Description

On Forest Rd, especially between the intersection with Harrison Rd and Collins Rd, there are several soccer ball sized potholes. There are also many canyons parallel and perpendicular to the road.
Update:
The road's condition is getting worse and worse. The current winter will leave a disastrous crater field behind. This needs to be fixed ASAP. The pictures and the video are from Summer 2013. The current conditions is way worse.

Biggest pot whole and some canyons have been fixed very poorly. I would estimate that more than 90% of the road issues (pot holes, cracks and canyons) are still present.

Ingh. Co. Road Dept: I've driven Collins Rd. from the Forest Rd./ Harrison Rd. intersection all the way to Dunkel and agree; there are many very bad sections that have me weaving all over the road and driving in the center turn lane most of the way to avoid the craters.

Agreed. A few like you posted are helpful. I heard from a City of Lansing staffer that this section of road is their responsibility, so they're aware of it and will hopefully post something here soon about what will be done.

Nothing has changed here. Still horrible. The video that I uploaded above shows only road damage at the intersection of Forest and Collins. The crappy road conditions extend in both directions, towards Jolly and towards Harrison. The intersection with Harrison has actually quite a crater field too. So both, Lansing and East Lansing, should feel addressed.

The winter has ripped some additional enormous pot holes into the road. The worst of them, just eye-balling it, is probably around 3ft. x 2ft. This stretch of road will look miserable when the snow is gone.

The above pictures feature the "best of pot holes" between the Harrison-Forest and Forest-Collins intersection. The above potholes are all around the same size: 2-3 feet long, around 1.5-2 feet wide and about up to half a foot deep. When I took the pictures i could witness the traffic swerve. The semi truck's swerving into the center lane was pretty scary

The center lane is currently the traffic lane for east bound traffic because the snow has not been removed from the original traffic lane. Another issue... But whatever.

Rec'd this response from my contact at the City of Lansing today: The City of Lansing has jurisdiction of Forest west of Harrison and all of Collins. I have forwarded these issues to our Operations and Maintenance Division.

Nothing has happened here... It is a circus driving through this area: everybody is swerving like crazy. The patches of road with potholes that have been poorly fixed are avoided by all road users. So the overall road condition is further going downhill.

Somebody had the brilliant idea to repaint the road markings while there are huge put homes gaping. The road markings were fine. The road surface needs attention, not the paint. Sigh.
