People run the red in all directions, especially when taking a left turn INTO Hamden high school heading North on Dixwell Ave. Parents.... why do you feel the need to make the situation worse and congest a busy area next to a high way on ramp? Drop your children off in the plaza next door. If they are in high school they can walk the extra 200 ft.

Many kids are already dropped off in the Plaza, and the traffic is a big problem in the PM when there are a lot less cars and mostly busses. The reason people "run" the light is that the lights are too short, no turn lane and/or too much traffic at one time.

And it has been that way for over 40 years. You too will learn to get used to it. That means leave earlyer or just leave more time for your self. In time you will get to answer the same question from others down the road. No, its not going to change any time soon....

The "reason" people run the red light is because they are not obeying the traffic signal-not because it is too short. It is this sense of self-righteousness and self-importance that causes the congestion-not the timing of the light.
