A full fix, unfortunately, is a multi million dollar project because unless proper drainage is installed, any repaving will not last long enough to justify the cost. We will try to get a skim coat on the worst portion of the road before winter.
Still bounce conditions. New drains were just put in two or less months ago. Still waiting for a skim coat. It's on the city's list to do it. There is a small area of skim coat near one of the new drains going across the road, but the rest is a hard ride. This past summer numerous construction type trucks were using Allen Ave as a short cut probably to go to Finch St. It was an every day, all day event. They probably helped cause the damage coming up the hill. Allen Ave is a small country type road. Large construction type trucks should be prohibited from using it, unless they have a job on Allen or one of the side streets. There is a lot of traffic constantly on Allen Aveue. Children that live on the street have told me they have narrowly excaped getting hit by speeding cars. It's a big concern to me, even though my children are grown. I worry about all these kids that live in this area. We need some "school bus stop" signs at Westford Drive and the two ends of Hourigan that the kids wait for the bus at. More speed limit signs would help too. I state my case. Merry Christmas and a blessed one to all.
