I moved to Meriden three years ago. Since then, I haven't seen one road repair crew fixing these potholes and other, pardon the expression, "divots".
At the corner of E. Main St. and U.S. 5 the road is so bad I feel like I'm running an obstacle course trying to avoid doing damage to my vehicle. The rest of E. Main St. is almost as bad.
There are other heavily traveled streets that have seen no repair work in the last three years either. What is it with the Department of Public Works? Are they completely oblivious to the road conditions in Meriden? Meriden is beginning to look like Detroit or, Harlem, N.Y.
This is Ct., not some "Third World Country". It would only take a few minutes to fix the E. Main, U.S. 5 Intersection. Can the DPW find five minutes out of their "busy schedule" to fix the most heavily travel roads in Meriden. After all, we are paying them to do something, aren't we?

The light on E Main St at Broad St when you are going towards Brown Jug Liquors only allows 3 vehicles to go thru before turning yellow. This is absolutely ridiculous that the 4th car has to almost run a red AFTER sitting for a 5 minute light cycle. This light routinely causes backups to the street behind Stop & Shop and makes it almost impossible to get out of Bank of America. I mean c'mon guys, I can see letting maybe 7 or 8 vehicles thru before turning yellow but 3 or 4 is unacceptable for the amount of traffic coming down from the highways and the top of E Main St
200 Olive St Meriden, CT
The sidewalk on olive st between high and elm st is completely destroyed. Areas of sidewalk uprooted by more than 3 inches. Parts of sidewalk completely smashed. Extremely dangerous. Putnam elementary school expects my child to walk this sidewalk from school to elm st. I can't even walk my baby's stroller on this sidewalk. My kid will end up walking in the street because the sidewalk is not accessible and this is very dangerous.

Trees in front of 51 Miller Avenue need to be cut back so the branches do not continue to rest on the electric wires and homeowners trees and property.

The Citizens Service Request Form is not working. After completing the form of preference for submitting complaints, I received a number of emails stating:

I called City Hall to report the issue and was bounced from department to department and sent into several full voicemail accounts. What's the deal?
