Judging from your anonymous response you can't possibly feel that strongly about this issue. I've heard other complaints from runners on the track however they don't want to say anything. I have asked him to move and he justs laughs. You may think it's ok for him to use the field in this manner. Using a power rope across 5 lanes of the track is ridiculous. He could easily to this workout on the side in the grass. You are also obviously not an athlete if the first thing you mention is "Thank God that he is not out there selling drugs, or having sex in the bleachers." That's really sad. Most runners understand the rules. One of them is not to hinder the workout of another. He thinks using the outside 3 lanes is ok because he is inconsiderate. And the only person he is helping is himself and his ego. And for the record I am not going to be grateful to anyone who chooses not to do anything illegal. I have a long history of volunteer work so I am not impressed with anonymous endorsement of "He's been helping people since he was a kid." I doubt he purported himself as a personal trainer when he was a kid. Good for him.

The Crescent St. entrance has been locked. It is not prudent for me to use the other entrance. During those times I have not observed said individual misusing the track. But I have not seen anyone else using the track either. Locking the gate just made it harder for residents to use the field, not easier. Seems like no one has a solution to this issue. Personal trainers are taking over parks but they should not be blocking tracks and the city should not be locking residents out at the same time.

The field has been fenced in. I hope this means they will finally rehab the space and re-open to the public next summer.
