  Do my wife and I have to remove the water from in front of our home for the City to repair/patch the pot hole in front of our driveway. Is that what the City is asking its' Senior Citizens to do? There was a crew out repairing pot holes on Steiger Drive. They repaired holes down the street within one half mile of this problem. They didn't patch here. I guess they didn't want to brush the water away as we have been doing for years.

  After last nights pouring rain the puddle is extremely large. It will freeze when the temperature drops and halfway across the road will be frozen.

  There is rain coming again this week. If Highway Foreman feels this has been resolved, I invite him to come out on the rainy day and the day after and stand in the huge puddle with me and retrieve the mail. The street is further eroded and now extends across the entire entrance to my driveway. Mr. Foreman come out and see how close the drain is and how the water doesn't drain the few feet to it. This sir/madam is a clear street engineering failure.

  The city has patched holes in the street 1/2 mile from this location on the same street twice. They still have not patched the washed out asphalt at this location

  This is still an issue as of October 24, 2023. As temperatures drop I urge the public to be extra carful when approaching this area especially if a school bus is approaching and vehicles are parked on the street forcing you onto the ice. I'm 73 years old and because of medical issues with my rotator cuff I can no longer clear the puddle before it freezes.

  The City of Westfield has been aware of this problem since July 31, 2019.
