Oh my god!!! I thought by travelling highway 2 yesterday to go to the lake was safe enough because it was still open!!!! Are you kidding me! The water was soooooooooo high people were pushing the cars through, it was going over people's hoods if there cars and frigen waves with white caps were forming when bigger trucks driving faster were coming your way! It was the scariest thing I have ever seen especially when I had a smaller car! If I would have know that I wouldn't have went that way. I only did because who would have thought the highway would be open in those circumstancees! Insane!

They claim it has nothing to do with angling lake, but that's what is feeding sand lake. The blame lies solely with the WSA and the provincial government. What the sask party doesn't realize is, they are committing political suicide with their inaction in regards to this matter. The RM"s have a part in this as well as all the old bridges they have removed and replaced with culverts are completely inadequate in regards to the volumes they can handle. There was a bridge there for a reason.

@Somerandompersononthestreet...Highway 2 Norrh is open for HEAVY TRUCK TRAFFIC only. The detour around hwy 55 is for light traffic. Read the sign at the bottom of the bridge

Why are you trying to close this issue? The road is still closed to automotive traffic and only large trucks are allowed through. This issue has NOT been fixed yet and it's looking like it will take a wile.

I was out there yesterday and the trench is open and flowing and the water level is slowly going down.

Water has not gone down...the trench has slowed the increase to 1" over the past 3 days

What happened to my earlier comment? The water is still going up, although that has slowed since the trench was put in, about 1 inch over the past 3 days. The water continues to flow in from the west faster than it is being drained.

Well I was down there yesterday and the water has not gone down. Markers put up on the 28th haven't shown any change but the ones put up on the 18th show about 2 inches rise in the water since then. It might have initially gone down but that didn't last long...

The second trench is open. It runs along a road I normally use to get to town. But last night there wasn't much water moving through it. Maybe they will get more flow today...I hope.

I was down there yesterday (Aug 3) and the level had gone down 4 inches on the stakes. That's progress but it's slow.
