I also concur that there needs to be a change...I have visited New Haven Reads several times to donate items, and each time have had cars drive way too fast around the corner...very dangerous indeed!

It's very dangerous spot, for pedestrians and drivers alike. Stop signs would be great!!!

We have already had a child hit by a car last year. Fortunately this turned out be non life threatening. The combination of the park and the Rose Center entice kids to cross the street while thinking of the play ahead. In addition cars park so close to the corners that you can hardly see the approaching cars, especially on Ashmun Street.

Some positive steps have been taken. Crosswalks were painted and just yesterday a "stop for pedestrian in crosswalk" sign was placed in the street. However, by 5:00 PM the sign had been run down and was lying broken in the grass on the corner of Bristol and Ashmun. Thank goodness it was only a sign that was hit this time!
