Not to long ago someone (probably the DOT) put a dashed line for a lane shift at this intersection (heading toward RTP) - in an attempt to move traffic over to the left. I have nearly been hit twice by drivers who are unsure of what to do as they move when the stoplight turns green. Some shift - other pay no attention to it, and some start to move and then stay in the lane. Anyone traveling down the highway does not see it and it is a VERY poorly thought out and a dangerous situation. It should be removed or there should be signs all over the place that say "lane shift ahead". It really should be removed.
