There was some discussion in the RIOC Board's Real Estate Committee meeting several months ago regarding getting an assessment of the pier's shape and required work to put it in shape for public use after Storm Sandy. It would behoove those interested in this issue to go to the next RIOC RE Committee meeting (see their website or the front door at 591 for meeting postings) and bring up the subject of this physical site. Many RI'ers have been wondering if the summer PierNYC outdoor eating venue would be possible to open this summer. We've not heard anything from RIOC about this for several months (since that RE meeting).
