Description
There are a series of large cracks and seams in the 3rd St bikeway that are perpendicular to travel. Those are merely very annoying. There are also long, deep cracks that are parallel to travel, and that pose a danger to cyclists as the crack is deep and as wide as a bike tire. These cracks are located outside the "door zone" of parked cars, and are therefore located precisely where a bike would ride most safely.

I've heard that 3rd St might be scheduled for repaving and repair, but I haven't heard more about this.
If the City of Tucson has been alerted to a safety issue like this, and they don't take action to repair dangerous infrastructure, does that expose the city to liability? I'd hate to see anyone get injured and the city have to settle. Repairing these issues would probably be less expensive in the long run.

This issue is a serious safety issue for cyclists, and it's especially striking because this street is such an important corridor for cyclists.
I nearly got a tire caught in one of these seams this past week- I don't understand why these can't be filled.
