Bicyclists when riding eastbound on Mt Vernon crossing after Ashford-Dunwoody, the "extended curb" comes to a point at the end. This is a very dangerous point for bicyclists, as they must immediately do a lane change and merge to the right lane. Painting a "bike lane" marker with bicycle symbols and directions will indicate to drivers to allow bicyclist to merge into the right lane. This is a safety improvement.

John, can you look into the issue regarding the "Bike Path" signs that are currently on Mt Vernon? When the city installed the bike lanes the proper "Bike Lane" signs were in place. When the city had to fix the pavement the signs were changed to "Bike Path". There is a major legal difference. City staff seems to give people the run around and stories that just don't sound true.
Why has the city re-designated Mt Vernon a "Bike Path" and not told us the truth about it?
