You don't have to explain any further, as that is common in New Haven. You should jot down sellers' cars as well as buyers' cars and report the license plates, colors, makes and models to NHPD. Also, place a laminated sign on a tree in front of your house and let everyone know that you are monitoring your property and that all illegal activities are being tracked and reported. I suggest you also get a camera system installed. It may seem extreme, but if something ever does happen around your property, like a break-in or shooting, you have it caught on camera. Protect yourself (and your family, if you have one).

I know the vehicle well, see the car driving around Westville and EllaT area all the time! Like, all day long.

That's the NHPD non-emergency number. When you see something please call it in. The NHPD deploys resources (read: cops) based upon calls/need for service. The PD does not monitor SCF, so please bring it to the PD's attention by calling stuff in.
