If you walk onto Grove Street without looking to your left and behind you could get hit. If you do not want to share the road with cars having the green light, I suggest you cross Grove in front of cars stopped at the light--the east side of the intersection. Or you can cross at Whitney / Church and Grove or Prospect / College and Grove where there are walk signals. I've lived here long enough to know and to expect the worst case scenario from on-coming cars whose drivers may not have passed a driver's test in the State of Connecticut. Have you watched to see how far back cars queue up at that light in the morning rush. There is no guarantee that a sign will do what you want and a walk signal in this city is often ignored where turning right on red is allowed--especially when the drivers are in a hurry. For you own safety, find an easier route--or better yet, just move to the other side of the street. You have a responsibility to yourself.
