Description
In the NYC parks green space triangle on Tioga street/ Ontario ave and little clove road the following issues exist:
1. Overgrown grass along curbside grass (its not too too bad right now but starting to get to be a potential tick hazard)
2. litter (there's even a beer can IN a tree)
3. Please add a park bench for elderly residences to use.
4. Please add a doggie waste pick up bag dispenser like are being installed in other parks.
5. Garbage can on the little clove road end is damaged and mis-shapened
6. There's space for another tree along the Ontario ave side.
7. lack of no overnight commercial parking along the little clove road side every night. violation is by the same company every night.

1. Litter – The site does not have heavy litter. It is on routine schedule for clean-up.
2. Grass – This is also on a routine schedule for mowing. At this time it is not in dire need but will be mowed shortly.
3. Bench – A bench at this location is not feasible. Although it sounds simple to add a bench, the site would have to be dug up so that a concrete foundation can be poured before a bench can be installed. Parks does not have funding to perform any kind of construction work, so the project would have to funded in some way. Aside from lack of funding, a site such as this one alongside a service road tends to be used by dog walkers or walkers just moving through the neighborhood. Its not an ideal location for siting and enjoying the day. A bench at a site like this one would encourage teenagers hanging out at night and at worst may encourage illegal or illicit behavior after sunset. The problems would likely overwhelm the benefits.
4. Doggie Waste Dispenser – we do appreciate this as a good location to add a dispenser. At this time we have a limited number of dispensers however we will add one as soon we have one available.
5. Trash Bin – We will replace the bin by the end of the week.
6. This site has been denied in the past by our street tree planting division. Street trees must be maintained at certain distance from the stop sign. They had found that there was no available position within a safe distance of the stop sign to plant a new tree.
7. Illegal Commercial Parking – this is an issue for NYPD.

Thank you for handling issue 4 and 5..I appreciate your help....In regards to #3, if "illicit" activities are going to occur, they will occur with or without a bench. The public should not be denied nice things based on the thought that "someone bad may do something" because then right there evil has won. And this is the reason we have a police department.
And to say it is not a nice place to sit and spend the day is a matter of opinion.. The triangle faces a dense residential area on 2 of the 3 sides with many elderly residents who can not walk far and this square would make a good sitting area.
But I do understand that the city of new York can not afford concrete and a bench for the elderly of Staten Island.
