Agreed--I was going to post about this too, it happens EVERY morning.Is there a reason why they have to get out of the car, park it illegally and dangerously, to drop their kids off? If this intersection were more carefully monitored by a crossing guard, I feel this wouldn't be necessary.

It would be helpful to know what time this happens , so that we can better respond to the issue

I'm re-opening this because this is still a current problem. I bike through here every morning and cars illegally park and block traffic during morning drop-off time. PLUS, and this is a big one, the school buses drop kids off curb-side at the school and yet block traffic going in the opposite direction, even though they're dropping the kids off directly at the curb. The school buses should not be turning on their stop signals, because kids are not interacting with traffic at all. It's creating an unsafe backup.

FairHavenRes: the problem with vehicles illegally parking and blocking traffic is an issue that we will address, as this sounds like it is an ongoing problem, so thank you for re-opening it. However, school buses must use their stop signals, no matter which direction a child is exiting. There is no wavering on that point.

We have been monitoring this issue for some time now. We were there on Friday 3/21/14 and ticketed all those found in violation. Though I am closing this issue we will continue to monitor the area. If the issue should arise again then please reopen as a new issue.
