Description
The guard rail that is installed in the area that separates the on-ramp from the northbound GW Parkway at the NB 14th Street bridge has been smashed up and sitting in place for a very long time. If it is truly needed, e.g., as a protective device, then it should have been replaced soon after it was damaged in order to again function as a protective device. If I isn't required -- doubtful -- then the crumpled railing should be removed. Plus, it is an eyesore, giving a heavily-used DC entry point a shabby look.

This issue has been reported to VDOT under work order #2039635. For updates, please contact the VDOT Custmoer Service Center at 1-800-367-7623.
In the event that this location is actually maintained by NPS, ACG DES will update this thread with the new work order number and contact information.
